Leeway Domestic Abuse one-hour briefings - Norwich

Leeway is Norfolk's specialist domestic abuse charity, providing a range of services supporting adults and children affected by domestic and relationship abuse. We are running a series of one-hour domestic abuse briefing sessions, where you can find out more about how domestic/relationship abuse might be affecting your workforce and staff teams and how you can respond to and support staff effectively.

Feedback from recent sessions include:

'I would encourage agencies and employers to address this issue and attend this training'
'Very well presented - Helen was engaging, inclusive and articulate'
'Excellent and very relevant - thank you'

Domestic abuse affects 1 in 3 women and 1 in 5 men at some point in their lives - that's around 10% of the workforce. This means that in your organisation/workplace, it's very likely that people are experiencing, or dealing with the aftermath of an abusive relationship.

Being a good employer means supporting staff effectively and meeting your duty of care to ensure their wellbeing is dealt with efficiently and that they work in a safe environment. There's also a powerful business case for supporting staff who have experienced, or are still experiencing domestic/relationship abuse. In England and Wales it's estimated it costs the economy £1.9 billion a year.

The one-hour briefing session costs just £20 per person, with refreshments provided. During the session you will find out more about key issues relating to domestic/relationship abuse, as well as how to respond to and support staff and colleagues.

Briefings are taking place on:

" 11 April (9.30 - 10:30)
" 10 May (16:00 - 17:00)
" 5 June (12:30 - 13:30)

All training sessions will be held at 79 Thorpe Road, Norwich, with free parking available and refreshments will be provided.
