Nominations now open for our Broadland Community at Heart Awards

Nominations are now open for the annual Broadland Community at Heart Awards.

The awards, which are now in their third year, were officially launched on Monday 31 July by Cllr Andrew Proctor, leader of Broadland District Council and Phil Kirby, chief executive of the council, along with John Warren, Alice Marshall-Chalk and Chris Vines of Price Bailey, the main sponsors of the Broadland Community at Heart Awards 2017.

The Broadland Community at Heart Awards reward those in the district who go above and beyond what is expected of them just to improve the lives of those around them. Previous finalists and winners have included school groups, litter pickers, Scout and Guide leaders, sportspeople, teaching assistants, devoted friends, community choirs and more.

Finalists will be chosen for each of the ten award categories who will then be invited to an awards ceremony in October where the winners will be revealed.

“We know there are many individual residents and groups in Broadland who work hard to give something to their community and these people often go unnoticed. Although they do not seek recognition or reward I hope that these awards will give people the chance to say thank you to those who have helped them and made a difference in their lives. That is why I am very much looking forward to seeing and reading this year’s nominations,” said Cllr Proctor.

John Warren, Partner at Price Bailey in Norwich said: “We are delighted to support the Broadland Community at Heart Awards 2017 as main sponsors of the awards. We feel it’s really important to celebrate outstanding individuals who are driven to make our local community better, these people make a very important difference and their exceptional efforts help to improve things for us all.”

Nomination forms can be found online at www.broadland.gov.uk/heart or can be requested by emailing heart@broadland.gov.uk or calling 01603 430124. All nominations must be received by the deadline of 9am on Monday 11 September.
