Buy Locals Be Scam Aware Evening

In conjunction with Norfolk County Council, Trading standards and the lovely people of The Space Norwich, Buy Local are holding a Be Scam Aware training evening on the 17th of May.

The training itself is to be held in way of an hours presentation by Norfolk Trading Standards and upon completion, you will be awarded a certificate and be fully aware of the scams and cold calling tricks that are becoming more prevalent in today's world either on a B2B basis or in your own home.

I’m sure everyone knows someone, or even themselves, who has been the victim of a scam, be it a cloned card, persistent cold calling or a cowboy builder. This course is designed to make you more aware of both the signs of a fraudster and to spot if someone you know may be being scammed.

Only a very small percent of victims come forwards, mostly as they are embarrassed to have fallen victim to the scam or they don’t know how to ask for the appropriate help. These people tend to pray on the elderly or vulnerable and through this course, we will all be better served to help both ourselves and others.

This is a free to attend event open to members and non-members alike.
